A is for Alex. He is a future diplomat who loves following the news. He is a French and English squash player with a strong legal background. Alex is doing the International Security Master’s at Sciences Po with special interest in the Middle East region. He has worked in the diplomatic field and is well known for his critical analysis on social and political conflicts. Alex has been smiling since 1992.

Catarina is a young and passionate woman. She comes from Portugal where she studied Economics at the Catholic School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. Even if she is only 22 years old, she already travelled to South Korea and south-east Asia during a 6 months exchange with the Hanyang University. Before she decided to join Sciences Po Paris, she took a gap year to serve as intern in a Bank in Warsaw (Poland) then in her own country. Today, Catarina is doing a master in International Economic Policy. She has joined the NMUN Team be involved in an “amazing international project” and because her dream is to become a diplomat for the European Union. As a volleyball player, Catarina is bringing with her, all the dynamism and the passion our team need.

Victor is a Public Policy Master student at Sciences Po, who played saxophone for 10 years and is also a theatre enthusiast, having participated in some plays. He is from a city near Lyon, but has moved to Paris to do his Bachelor’s degree at Sciences Po, as well. During the last year, he moved to Washington DC, in an academic exchange program with the George Mason University, and had the opportunity to work as an intern at the Office of US Senator Tim Kaine. He doesn’t exclude a possible involvement in the French administration or the French diplomacy, being public education his main area of interest. He describes MUN as a perfect way to learn how to be a diplomat and belong to a community of students from all around the world, sharing the same values and motivation.

Sanni is from Finland and her personality is as sunny as her name. She studies at the University of Helsinki but is spending a year at Sciences Po concentrating on International Development. In her spare time she enjoys watching ice hockey, snowboarding in the Alps, running marathons and brunch. She is in love with the timeless romance of Paris and looks forward to spending the year exploring the city by Vespa and becoming fluent in French. Last summer, while interning for the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland, she had the opportunity to work at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development hosted by the UN in New York. She hopes to learn more about sustainable development through NMUN. We are so lucky to have her around to share all her insider tips and her happy-go-lucky nature.

Matthieu grew up in three different place: Maryland in the US, Paris (the one in France, not Texas) and Singapore. He’s a dedicated business and economics student, yet that doesn’t stop him from pursuing diverse interests such as politics and international affairs. He also enjoys playing tennis and likes to pretend he’s knowledgeable about the players when watching tournaments on TV.
